Learn more about the convenience of adjustable weights

Adjustable weights are one of the greatest inventions I’ve seen to help give you more space in any home gym. Not many people have the luxury of having a gym in their homes with a full set of dumbbells and machines. With adjustable weights, you can now store your dumbbells anywhere you like. You don’t need to build a new wing to your home in order to workout. In this guide I’ll discuss a great option available if you’re in the market for adjustable weights. I’ve been a gym owner for 15 years, so it’s always important that I’m on top of the most recent equipment available.

I recently started doing a lot of training in my clients homes and knowing that most of them don’t have the right equipment, I knew that adjustable weights were a must have in order for me to give my clients the most effective workouts.

I had never seen adjustable weights before, until I was approached by one of my gym’s sales reps. I had no clue how simple these weights could possibly be. I soon realized all I needed to do was simply pull a pin and the weight of these adjustable dumbbells would change. However, there was one issue when I first started doing this and it’s now solved. When they first started making these adjustable weights, they didn’t make them heavy enough. They were good enough for some basic stuff, but I definitely needed heavier in order to satisfy all my home trained clients.

I recently came across adjustable weights made by Ironmaster. They’re making adjustable dumbbells that weight up to 75 lbs each. None of my clients need to or can lift more than this when using dumbbells so my problems have been solved. The adjustable weights they’re making are called Quick Lock and you won’t find any options heavier than these.

Ironmaster has also added an option to add on to these 75 lb weights allowing you to purchase an additional 45 lb’s for each adjustable dumbbell. Now you’re able to bring 120lbs into a home gym and if you’re looking to put on size you shouldn’t have a problem with these.

This dumbbell system can be purchased directly from Ironmaster for $489.00, which also includes a rack. To purchase the additional 120 lbs, Ironmaster sells the add-on for $199.00. This may seem like a lot of money, but if you were to purchase a full rack of dumbbells up to 75 lbs this can cost you $2,500+. I’ve seen high quality dumbbells up to 75lbs for $5,000+. Not only will it cost more money, it will take up a ton of space!

As someone who has been purchasing gym equipment over the last 15 years, I highly recommend these adjustable weights. They’re a more affordable option, safer, take up less room and you’re able to have just as good of a workout with these weights. There are other options available, but in my opinion Ironmaster is making a great adjustable weight system. Good luck with your new adjustable weight set and your training!

With the recent invention of the adjustable dumbbell set it now makes it possible for everyone to have a home gym. There’s no more need to have to build out a gym in your home or have workout equipment all over the place. You can now find an adjustable dumbbell set in many homes and it’s one of the most popular items in any home gym. It’s only very recently that I’ve come to accept adjustable weights. I do a lot of home training for my clients so I’ve come to realize how good they can be made these days.

In this guide I’ll discuss some of the many advantages that come with purchasing an adjustable dumbbell set as well as some different options available on the market today.

With an adjustable dumbbell set there are so many different exercises you can do with them. You can do every exercise you normally do with a set of dumbbells, however these adjustable weights take up a fraction of the space. When I first saw adjustable weights, I wasn’t a fan. Now they’re so easy to use and extremely portable. In order to change the weight on these dumbbells, all you need to do is either click a button or move a knob. Pretty simple!

With these adjustable dumbbells you have a varied range. This means you can perform many different types of exercises just with one adjustable dumbbell set. If you’re looking to workout your legs (lunges, squats, deadlifts) or you’re looking to crush your biceps and triceps, this can all be done with an adjustable dumbbell set. No more need for you to hop around using different machines.

If you were debating buying several machines in order to get a full workout, there’s no more need for that! Since these adjustable dumbbell sets are now available, you won’t need to deal with all those huge machines that take up a ton of room. A full dumbbell rack can take up a ton of space, while an adjustable dumbbell set will take up only a small fraction of the space.

An adjustable dumbbell set is also extremely economical. If you end up spending on machines for different body parts, you’ll end up spending thousands of dollars. Ironmaster (who makes one of the top of the line adjustable weights) retails up to 75lbs of weight for less than $500. There are more affordable options out there, but this is one of the best. Even with Ironmaster’s adjustable dumbbell set you’re still saving a ton of money!

Not only is it more economical to go with an adjustable dumbbell set instead of machines, it’s also better for developing muscles than machines. Using free weights are less stable which forces you to use more muscles to keep the weights stable. You’re able to move with the free weights in natural motions or in similar ways you do in real life, but not on the machines.

If you’re ready to buy an adjustable dumbbell set, make sure to shop around first. A few things to look for beside prices are the grip (always go with an ergonomic grip) and make sure the weight can easily be adjusted. I hope this guide has helped you and good luck!

As a professional fitness trainer, it’s my job to always stay on top of the latest trends in working out as well as the newest equipment available as well. Recently, adjustable hand weights have become very popular and I use them with my clients on a regular basis. I do a lot of personal training for a handful of my clients in their own home and most don’t have a full in-home gym. With the creation of adjustable hand weights, skies the limit when it comes to training at home. In this section I will discuss different options available as well as some different price points these adjustable hand weights are sold for.

If you’re looking for a very basic adjustable hand weight Reebok makes a great product. They don’t get too heavy, but not everyone is looking to lift 100 lbs. Reeboks adjustable hand weight can adjust from 2 lbs – 12.5 lbs. They’re extremely easy to adjust and they’re easy to store. The measurements are less than 13 x 13 inches. These are great for walking outdoors or on a treadmill. They can also be used to tone up several muscle groups. The set cost $69.99 for the two weights and a storage unit.

If you’re looking for a heavier option, PowerBlock has a great product available. They were the first company to start manufacturing adjustable hand weights. The weights are very easy to adjust, with a two pronged pin that’s easily secured by sliding the pin into the slot of the desired weight. Powerblock’s top of the line adjustable hand weights are called the Urethane series. The weight range of these dumbbells starts at 2.5 lbs all the way up to 90 lbs. The cost per pound for this set only comes out to $.25 per pound, which is a total of $638 for the pair. This set of adjustable hand weights replaces what would be 28 pairs of dumbbells or 2,565 lbs of free weights.

The next brand of adjustable hand weights is made by Ironmaster. Their dumbbells can adjust up to 75 lbs, with an option to add on another 45 lbs. With the optional add on, this is the heaviest adjustable hand dumbbell set available on the market. The 75 lb set can be purchased for $489.00 and the extra weight can be purchased for an additional $199.00. The model I’ve been using for my clients trained in a home gym is the Quick Lock model by Ironmaster.

Once you purchase your set of adjustable hand weights, there’s so much you can do with them. However, it’s extremely important to also buy an adjustable bench, since many exercises are performed on a bench with different angles. An adjustable bench should cost you around $150 – $200 and that will get you something you’ll be happy with.

I hope this has helped you in your search for adjustable hand weights. As a professional trainer, I bring them all over the place and I’m seeing them in more and more homes. This has solved the problem of having to use a ton of space for an entire rack of weights.

Rubber weights have become more and more popular in gyms today. Over the many years I’ve been working out, all I remember are weights made of different types of conventional metal materials. There have been several times I’ve witnessed people in the gym drop a weight on their foot and face serious pain and injuries. I’ve had some very close calls myself, but thankfully my toes have always made it through. As a gym owner, I need to think about keeping my clients as safe as possible. With the recent trend of rubber weights, this is a must have in any gym. In this guide I’ll discuss the many advantages of having rubber weights and discuss some different options when you’re ready to purchase rubber weights.

The first reason I prefer rubber plates over conventional metal plates, I briefly mentioned above. There are ten little guys that would hate you if a metal plate fell on them. Your toes can easily break from that. I’m not saying it will feel good to drop a 45lb rubber plate on your toes, but since they’re made from rubber there’s a bit of give on the impact. The chances of breaking your toes or dealing with a serious injury are greatly reduced.

Not only is the individual training protected, but the gym floors and Olympic bars are also protected. Rubber weights will save from wear and tear on the floors and bars since they won’t dent or scratch any of the equipment. When someone drops a plate the noise is also reduced compared to metal plates.

Having the equipment in the gym looking like it’s new at all times is a must for me. It used to really bother me when I had iron plates that were chipping or cracking. With rubber weights, there’s no more of this. They won’t crack, rust, flake, and chip like most metal plates do.

There are a few different styles of rubber weights available. The two types I’ve come across are grip rubber encased weights and kraiburg rubber weights. I chose to go with grip rubber weights since they’re easier for my clients to maneuver. They have open spaces in the circular part of the weight so that one can grip the weight and move it as needed. Both of these styles can be matched with all different styles of Olympic plate racks.

Some of the better brands on the market I’ve come across are Hampton Fitness, Iron, Body Solid, Troy and Upper Limits. All these brands make high-end rubber weights which are odorless and extremely durable. Depending on the quantity of rubber weights you’re looking for or the size of the plates, prices obviously vary. I recently purchased a 500lb set made by Troy. This set was a variety of different rubber weights and including the bar it cost $999.00.

I hope this guide has helped you understand some of the many advantages of rubber weights. There are many options to choose from you’re looking for a few weights or an entire set, but this is the safer option! Good luck!

As a former soccer player and now a personal fitness trainer, ankle weights are very close to my heart! I’ve always been a huge fan of using ankle weights whether training for soccer or training my clients. Now days, adjustable ankle weights are the new hot product available and all I need is one pair which can be used with any one of my individual clients.

Adjustable ankle weights are used for many activities. You don’t need to use much weight to see results when using adjustable ankle weights. Since it’s further from the core and focused on the ankles, shin and Achilles tendon, a minimal amount of weight is needed in order to increase the forces. When you’re using your upper body, you have your core and entire power from your legs behind you helping you move heavier weights.

The calf muscles are the most beneficial muscle group when training with adjustable ankle weights. This can increase quickness, vertical and overall speed. I’ve noticed a great difference in my spring when I’ve trained with ankle weights in the past. When I played soccer at the NCAA level, it was very common to train with ankle weights.

There are other possible effects of training with adjustable ankle weights. I often use them while doing pull-ups or dips in order to add some extra weight to my body. If you can also include leg raises while wearing your adjustable ankle weights, that’s going to improve the legs and the core. I’ve also used ankle weights during karate training for slow kicking katas, which will help improve the power of your kicks. People often use them during stretching and yoga as well.

There are many mixed opinions about some of the disadvantages of adjustable ankle weights. Many have said that they may put too much strain on the joints, specifically in your knees and ankles. Some will say not to run with them on for these reasons, but there are many different opinions regarding this concern.

Adjustable ankle weights are very simple to use. Unlike adjustable dumbbells where you must use a pin to change the weight, with adjustable ankle weights you can just remove the weight plates from the flaps. It’s rare to see adjustable ankle weights that weigh more than 20 lbs but they do make them up to 40lbs. They can usually be adjusted in ½ lb increments. For a quality set of adjustable ankle weights, expect to pay between $45 and $60 although they can be priced higher or lower.

Now that you know what some of the pros and cons of ankle weights are, let me tell you about my favorite adjustable ankle weight on the market. They’re made by All Pro and it’s their 20 lb adjustable ankle weight. They’re great for any sort of rehabilitation exercises as well as any of the exercises mentioned above. It comes with 20 removable 1 lb metal plates so you can adjust accordingly. In my opinion, this is one of the best options available and can be purchased for $60.00.

I always recommend shopping around and it’s best if you can head into a sports store to try them on. They’re no fun if they’re not comfortable so make sure you’re getting something that works for you!
